How to Create a Canva Website and Import It into Shopify


This guide walks you through the complete process of creating a website design in Canva and importing it into Shopify using the Canvify app. You’ll also learn how to reuse your Canva designs inside existing Shopify pages like your homepage or About Us page.

Step 1: Create a Website Design in Canva

Start by heading over to Canva and creating a new website design.

Create new website You can:

  • Begin with an empty canvas, or
  • Choose from Canva’s ready-made website templates
    Select template

Once your design is open, you can start designing your Shopify page. For most use cases, using a pre-made website template is the fastest option. Find free Canva website templates on Canvify store. Canvify templates

Feel free to:

  • Edit text
  • Replace images
  • Adjust layouts or sections to better match your brand
    Edit design

Step 2: Publish the Canva Design as a Website

Once your design is ready, publish it as a website.

You can find the Publish option directly in the editor.
If you don’t see it, click the Share button to access publishing options. Find publish option

Before publishing:

  • Select a website URL
  • Make sure mobile responsiveness is enabled

Now publish the design.

After publishing, Canva will generate a public website link for your design.

Copy this link… you’ll need it in the next step. Publish complete

Step 3: Import the Canva Website into Shopify Using Canvify

Now switch over to your Shopify admin dashboard.

Open the Canvify app and click Import New Page. Canvify app

Paste your Canva website link, give your page a page a title. Leave the header and footer options unchecked for now. Fill fields

Click Import.

Once the import is complete, open the page to preview it. Import complete

You’ll see that your Canva design is now fully live inside Shopify. Preview page

Each imported page gets its own Shopify URL, which you can use anywhere in your store including buttons, menus, banners, or links.

Step 4: Add the Canva Design to Existing Shopify Pages

Canvify also lets you place Canva designs inside existing Shopify pages like:

  • Homepage
  • Collections page
  • About Us page
  • Custom landing pages

To do this, open the Shopify Theme Editor. Theme editor

Navigate to the page where you want to add the design. Add a new section and select Canvify Page from the section list. Add section

Search for the page you just imported and select it. Search page

The Canva design will instantly appear as part of your Shopify page. Page added

This also allows you to reuse specific sections from Canva and combine them with your existing Shopify content.

Once your Canva design is live in Shopify, you can:

  • Add imported Canvify pages to your navigation bar
  • Further improve and refine your Canva designs
  • Add Buy Now or Add to Cart buttons to your pages
